READ foundation has conducted 28 health camps to the young girl and women workers to treat them due to their work related diseases like anemic, reproductive systems, and lung diseases. Nearly, 6396 girls and their family members are treated and severe cases are referred to further treatment at Government General Hospitals.
Special nurses are deployed in Alankudi Government General Hospital in Pudukkottai district to monitor the in patients and out patients to check them for skin diseases, communicable diseases, cancer and diabetics to refer them for further treatment. A permanent monitoring team set up in the hospital from 2006-2010 under the Tamilnadu Health
system Project (TNHSP) with the support of Government of Tamilnadu.
Two special Ambulances were given to the Pudukkottai Government general Hospital and Alankudi Hospital to treat emergency cases for the village people to get speedy medical assistance.
