Textile is the second largest employment provider after agriculture in Tamilnadu. Pudukkottai is one of the major source destination of women workers working in textile industries. Read foundation has selected 120 panchayat villages in Annavasal, Viralimalai and Kunnandar kovil blocks in Pudukkottai district. Women workers are sensitized in life skill training, labour laws, health and hygiene, Government welfare assistance schemes and by creating a peaceful working conditions in their work place.
